Marion Jansen is the Director of the Trade and Agriculture Directorate at the OECD. Prior to joining the OECD, she was chief economist at the International Trade Centre and held senior positions in the World Trade Organization and the International Labour Office. Marion Jansen holds a PhD in economics and has published widely on international trade and global economic governance. She has conducted research on food safety standards, skills gaps in the agriculture sector and co-edited the ILO-UNCTAD volume “Shared Harvests: Agriculture, Trade and Employment”. She has lectured in multiple academic institutions, including the University of Geneva and the World Trade Institute, and is member of the Board of the CEPII (Paris), the Advisory Board of the WTI (Bern), the Advisory Board of the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy (Sussex) and the WEF’s Global Future Council on Trade and Investment (Geneva). A German national, Marion Jansen grew up in the Netherlands. Next to German and Dutch, she speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish.
